Finding a job is more than just editing a resume. The MiM career team prepares MiM students to plan ahead and execute a holistic job search strategy. Students use a variety of tools and resources to assess previous educational and work experience and pivot towards future goals. Employers gain access to an eager and well-equipped Georgetown McDonough pipeline of business talent.

Peer Advisors
In addition to the full-time dedicated coaching support you receive from your senior director of career services, the McDonough Career Center is proud to offer coaching from over 30 Peer Advisors, students from the second-year MBA class with coach training and industry expertise. You can easily make appointments to meet either on campus or online for career clarification conversations; resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn reviews; mock interviews; and networking strategies.
Summer Career Course
Career development begins before the program starts, with career-focused summer programming that includes a consulting bootcamp. This will give MiM students an optional opportunity to engage with career services before they arrive on campus.
Intensive Early Fall Curriculum
As the culmination of the summer career course, you will participate in an intensive career-focused curriculum in August. Through regular sessions and open office hours with your senior director of career services, we will guide you through relevant and timely topics like networking and career clarification to ensure you can begin your program with the confidence needed to pursue your career goals.
Our MiM Senior Director of Careers: Karen Kouagou
Karen advises students on career search strategies and manages relationships with employers and alumni. Her broad international consulting background in both corporate and nonprofit organizations includes several years as an executive recruiter at the World Bank. Throughout her career in multiple industries, she specialized in human resources consulting, recruitment and training. Prior to joining the MiM program as Senior Director of Career Services, Karen was an Industry Practice Lead in the MBA Career Center focused on the Energy & Cleantech, Government, Social Impact/Nonprofit, and International Development industries. At the Georgetown McDonough School of Business, Karen places particular emphasis on career clarification and supporting the career journey of international students. Fluent in French, her global perspective was enhanced by experiences as a host family, university exchange student, and expatriate. Karen holds a master’s degree from George Mason University and a bachelor’s degree from the College of William and Mary. She is a long-time resident of the DC Metro area, so be sure to ask her about local hikes, film festivals, and specialty foods.
