The online Master in Business Analytics offered by Georgetown’s prestigious McDonough School of Business — ranked second by Fortune as the best online MSBA program — is a 16-month program that demonstrates how to drive value-based decisions by combining leading-edge analytics and critical-business skills.
In this premier program, you will discover a rigorous curriculum designed to immerse you in a rich, experiential learning environment. It includes weekly, synchronous sessions in which you join your cohort of classmates and Georgetown’s world-class faculty in a virtual classroom to address practical business challenges. Together you will discover how to structure problems, obtain and manage data, apply analytical tools and methods, and generate insights that enhance business value.
MSBA Courses
Throughout the online MSBA program, you will complete 18 courses that demonstrate how to analyze data and derive valuable insights across all business functions, and to lead change within organizations. You will explore case studies, use real-world databases, and learn how to use the latest analytics tools and technologies.
The program includes two required and intensive seven-day residencies where students earn credit, meet faculty and students in their cohort, and connect with program resources. It concludes with a capstone project that applies the concepts, methods, and tools learned in the program to a business analytics challenge with a local, national, or global sponsor.
Student Learning with Industry-Leading Data and Cloud Tools
The Georgetown MSBA program equips students with essential technical skills for business analytics, including programming in R and Python, database management with SQL, and concepts of big data, such as distributed computing.
Through a partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS), the program provides hands-on, dynamic learning experiences with AWS for cloud computing and top data visualization platforms like Tableau and Power BI.
Courses are designed progressively to develop your skills in data handling and analytical modeling. You will have numerous opportunities to apply these skills in business contexts through projects, case studies, and a comprehensive capstone experience. By graduation, you will speak the language of data to effectively communicate with critical stakeholders and lead your organization. This provides your foundation to create, share, and sustain value for business and society.
