A Year in Review: Georgetown McDonough’s Top Moments of 2024

As the calendar year comes to a close, Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business is celebrating the successes, milestones, and accomplishments of 2024. We advanced key strategic initiatives, explored emerging fields of business, kept our values in focus, and took important strides in our efforts to prepare global leaders to make a positive difference in the world.

These moments would not be possible without the support of our entire community of students, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends who continue to embody the school’s mission as a leading business school that inspires ethical leaders to serve the common good.

Explore some of our top moments from 2024:

We reached across borders, gained new international perspectives in business, and convened global leaders at the intersection of business and global affairs.

We used our interdisciplinary expertise to explore the fields shaping the business world in the years to come: AI, Analytics, and the Future of Work; the Business of Healthcare; and the Business of Sustainability.

We advanced research and dialogue on key issues and trends in business – and had a little bit of fun along the way.

During the 2024 Olympic Games, hotels in Paris had fewer guests but were expected to make more money. How is that possible? Professor Matthew Cypher, director of the Steers Center for Global Real Estate, explained how the Olympics are shaking up the hotel industry in Paris, breaking down the basics of real estate investing.
