To prepare to be ethically responsible and effective business leaders, Georgetown McDonough students complete a challenging business core and classes in one of six majors. Georgetown McDonough students also are required to complete a liberal arts curriculum that emphasizes reasoning and critical thinking skills. Students then have the opportunity to apply these skills in a variety of curricular and co-curricular settings, such as international case competitions, undergraduate research, and consulting projects for private and nonprofit clients under the guidance of world-class faculty.

    The First Year Seminar (FYS) Program is an exciting way for first-year students at Georgetown McDonough to investigate the nature of scholarship, think about important ideas in business, and achieve intellectual and personal growth. It is an opportunity for students to embrace learning and engage in discussions with their peers while exploring topics ranging from the evolution of business enterprise to patterns of global commerce.

  • Entrepreneurship Fellows Program

    The Entrepreneurship Fellows Program at Georgetown McDonough fosters the creation of business and new ventures by bringing together entrepreneurially minded students and members of the community. Students in the Entrepreneurship Fellows Program learn about entrepreneurship through a blend of coursework, hands-on workshops, networking, and pitch competitions.

  • Case Competitions

    Participating in business case competitions offers undergraduate students an opportunity to develop and enhance analytical abilities, critical thinking skills, team and collaboration skills, and presentation abilities, as well as their persuasive argumentation abilities. Each year, the Georgetown McDonough Undergraduate Program receives invitations to participate in case competitions from distinguished universities across the globe.

  • Research

    Each summer, the McDonough Undergraduate Summer Research Initiative offers students the opportunity to apply for a grant to conduct research with a Georgetown McDonough professor. Participating in the Undergraduate Summer Research Fellowship Program is a unique way for students to do research on a topic of interest to them. By working one-on-one with a faculty advisor, students learn how to use the research process to inform a real business problem.
