Doreen Amorosa, Associate Dean of McDonough Career Services

Doreen Amorosa

Associate Dean, McDonough Career Services 

Doreen Amorosa serves as the faculty liaison and is responsible for managing the MBA Career Center strategy and team direction, as well as student, faculty, alumni, and university relationships within the McDonough School of Business. In addition to these efforts, Amorosa manages recruiting strategies, networking opportunities, and employer relationship development globally.

Prior to her career at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, Amorosa served as the vice president for global recruitment and workforce planning at American Express, where she managed the recruitment strategy both within the United States and globally. Her experience also includes serving as the vice president of resourcing at ICI; director of talent acquisition at Avaya; and more than 20 years of experience working with Merrill Lynch, where she oversaw recruitment, staffing, diversity initiatives, and HR policy. Amorosa holds an MBA from Seton Hall University and earned a BSBA degree in management from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business. Throughout the last half of her corporate experience, Amorosa was a member of the McDonough School of Business Board of Advisors.

Eric Young

Assistant Dean, Technology, Media, Entertainment, Clean Tech/Energy, and Sports Industries and Entrepreneurship

Industry Practice Leader and Certified Career Coach

Eric leads relationship building with employers and students interested in the technology, media, entertainment, sports. He also coaches entrepreneurship students. Eric joined the Georgetown MBA Career Center following a 20-year international career at Accenture, where he began as a technology consultant and served in various human resources roles across the United States, India, and Canada.

Eric holds a B.A. in economics from the University of Maryland, an M.A. in organizational management from The George Washington University, and a certificate in corporate leadership from Georgetown University.

Maureen Cleary Carpenter

Assistant Dean, Financial Services, Real Estate, International Development,and Hospitality Industries

Industry Practice Leader and Certified Career Coach

Maureen leads relationship building with employers and students interested in financial services, real estate and hospitality. Maureen joined the McDonough MBA Career Center from the NYU Stern Office of Career Development, where she was the director of relationship management, responsible for creating and expanding opportunities for Stern students by building strategic partnerships with diverse organizations.

Prior to joining Stern, Maureen was a vice president in operations at Credit Suisse Securities and Goldman, Sachs & Company where she specialized in oversight of core control functions, business process improvement, campus recruitment, project management, and staff development. Maureen received an MBA in finance from the Wharton School of Business and a B.A. in economics from Georgetown University.

Larry Verbiest

Director, Consulting and Government Industries

Industry Practice Leader and Certified Career Coach

Larry advises MBA students interested in consulting. He also manages and expands the MBA Career Center’s recruiting relationships with consulting industry employers. He began his consulting career with Booz Allen Hamilton after a 22-year career as an officer in the U.S. Army. At Booz Allen he supported clients in the healthcare and human capital markets, and led interdisciplinary teams of consultants on eight distinct contracts or task orders with a total award value of $33M during the period 2008 to 2013. He was also very involved with employee recruiting.

Larry holds a B.S. from the United States Military Academy, an M.A. in International Policy Studies from Stanford University, and an MPA from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. He also completed a Change Management certification program at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business and is a Project Management Professional (PMP).

Gopika Spaenle

Associate Director, Consumer Goods & Retail, Healthcare, and Manufacturing & Transportation Industries

Industry Practice Leader and Certified Career Coach

Gopika leads relationship building with employers and students interested in consumer products, retail, healthcare, manufacturing and transportation. She joined the Georgetown MBA Career Center after leading account management for the Education Advisory Board (EAB), a leading research, consulting and technology company focused on higher education. Prior to that, she served for eight years in a global marketing role at INSEAD Business School in Singapore. Gopika also worked in marketing and sales in the healthcare industry, both for Novartis and the Advisory Board Company. During her career, she has lived and worked in Switzerland, Australia, Singapore, and Washington, D.C.

Gopika holds a B.A. in history from Amherst College, a master’s from the University of Oxford, and an MBA from IMD.

Sarah Harbison

Associate Director, Consulting and Non-Profit / Social Impact Industries

Industry Practice Leader and Certified Career Coach

Sarah advises MBA students interested in consulting. Her primary focus areas are commercial strategy, M&A and financial services consulting. She also manages and expands the MBA Career Center’s recruiting relationships with consulting industry employers. Sarah joined the Georgetown MBA Career Center from a career in independent consulting. She has also previously worked within the Financial Services practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers and a number of startups in retail, social impact, and technology including and Third Sector Capital Partners.

Throughout her career, Sarah has remained dedicated to education, student life, and mentorship. She holds an MBA in Management, Organizational Effectiveness, & Entrepreneurship from the Wharton School and a BSBA magna cum laude in Accounting & Finance from Georgetown University.

Kerry Kidwell-Slak

Director, Career Curricula and Communications

Interim Industry Practice Leader: Non-Profit / Social Impact Industries

Kerry designs and delivers career programming and communications for the MBA Career Center, as well as the Executive Career Development Center, MiM Career Services, and the Undergraduate Career Development Center. She most recently held management roles in membership and education programs with two science-based non-profit associations with an emphasis on cultivating professional development and career opportunities for those with STEM backgrounds. She also has held leadership roles with the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) Career Center and began her career in technical consulting for the nuclear power industry with MPR Associates.

Kerry holds a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Duke University and an M.A. in higher education administration from The George Washington University.

Jessica Steinberg

Director of Strategic Operations


Jessica provides strategic, operational guidance at both the department and cross-department levels. Her role oversees critical MBA Career Center recruiting operations, annual media and rankings reporting, and student data collection and analysis. Jessica’s career has spanned across global business development, college counseling, and education access in various nonprofit organizations, higher education institutions, and secondary schools. Prior to Georgetown, Jessica worked as the regional manager for India and Latin America at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. She also serves as a board member for Roots Ethiopia, an NGO focused on education access and job creation in Southern Ethiopia.

She earned a B.S. in psychology from Boston University, an MSEd in counseling from Fordham University, and an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.

Adam Paegle

Recruitment and Event Coordinator


As a recruitment coordinator, Adam manages logistics and provides support in the areas of recruitment coordination, event logistics, project management, and internal relations. After receiving his B.A. in English from Georgetown University, Adam worked for Georgetown’s Undergraduate Career Center as a recruiting coordinator, managing employer relationships and recruitment activities for Georgetown’s undergraduate students. Prior to joining the MBA Career Center, Adam worked as a college recruiter in the technology industry.
