CAREER MANAGEMENT FOR THE EVENING PROGRAM

Many companies face a critical shortage of leadership talent, and they are looking to part-time MBA programs to meet their needs. Being in the Georgetown Evening Program puts you squarely in the sights of corporations looking to improve their management quality. Employers know that an Evening MBA graduate from Georgetown went through the same demanding curriculum and had the same topnotch faculty as students in our full-time program.

During the three years of the Evening Program, we will provide you with the tools to make strategic career management decisions now and for the rest of your life. As you progress through the program you will go through the following phases:

PHASE 1: SELF-ASSESSMENT. You will analyze your unique strengths and understand how to use them to make an immediate and lasting impact on your organization.

PHASE 2: DECISIONAL BALANCE ANALYSIS. You will be given the tools to evaluate industries and functions, to appraise the skills and experience needed to advance in your career, and to identify where you need to close gaps in your current skill set.

PHASE 3: POSITIONING. You will learn how to position yourself for the next level, how to communicate your value to the organization, and how to develop a clear strategy to build your network.

PHASE 4: LEVERAGING RESOURCES. You will conduct real-life consulting projects, attend corporate treks and employer presentations, make alumni and faculty connections, and network with corporate partners and MBA peers across all programs.

PHASE 5: POST-MBA JOBS. We will prepare you for a career transition into a more senior role internally or externally. You will be taught interview and resume development skills, negotiation techniques and strategy, as well as the nuances of on-campus recruiting, experienced-hire interviews and working with professional search firms.
